📍 Kingdom Of Bahrain Glass House Project
Primary Purpose: A dual-purpose glasshouse facility for the commercial cultivation and nurturing of tomatoes and strawberries.
Project Overview
Primary Purpose
A dual-purpose glasshouse facility for the commercial cultivation and nurturing of tomatoes and strawberries.
Key Environmental Parameter
Precise temperature control within a designed range of 18°C to 25°C, with operational tolerance of ±1.0°C under actual running conditions.
Design Feature
All refrigeration units are equipped with enlarged evaporative components and high-ambient-temperature kits to ensure efficiency under demanding conditions of up to 55°C outdoor temperature, with expected capacity retention of ≥75%.
Our Solution
To meet the unique challenges of establishing a high-yield agricultural facility in Bahrain's coastal desert environment, we delivered a turnkey climate control solution centered on durability, precision, and industrial reliability.
► Robust & Corrosion-Resistant Engineering
- We specified and supplied stainless steel material for critical equipment and construction elements. This ensures long-term structural integrity and uninterrupted operation by withstanding the region's extreme ambient temperatures, intense solar radiation, and high salinity.
► Industrial-Grade Core Technology
- At the heart of the system are two Bitzer semi-hermetic compressors, renowned for their robustness and efficiency. Their integration guarantees stable performance. The system is engineered to maintain at least 75% of its rated cooling capacity under the project's specified extreme high-temperature (55°C condensing) operating conditions, with a declared EER of ≥3.0 at 35°C ambient.
► Precision Environmental Control
- The system is engineered to provide accurate and stable climate control, maintaining the target 18-25°C temperature band with an operational fluctuation of ±1.0°C. This stable environment is essential for optimizing the growth, quality, and yield of both tomatoes and strawberries. The control system features multi-point temperature sensing (one sensor per 40m² on average).
► Certified Technical Oversight
- For the critical installation and commissioning phase, the project benefits from the direct supervision and technical guidance of our certified overseas installation engineers. Their role is to oversee all mechanical and electrical integration, enforce stringent installation protocols, and ensure the system performs exactly to its designed specifications.
Results
This project translates our engineered solution into tangible outcomes for sustainable, high-tech agriculture in a demanding climate:
✔ Enables Year-Round, High-Quality Production By creating a precisely controlled microclimate, the glasshouse facilitates the consistent cultivation of premium tomatoes and strawberries, independent of Bahrain's harsh external desert conditions.
✔ Ensures Operational Resilience & Uptime The use of corrosion-resistant materials and industrial-grade components like Bitzer compressors results in a highly reliable system designed for minimal downtime and long service life, protecting the client's investment.
✔ Guarantees Designed Performance The supervised installation and commissioning process ensures that the climate control system delivers on its promise of accurate temperature stability (18-25°C) and efficient operation at the specified 55°C condensing temperature, directly supporting optimal crop yields.
✔ Establishes a Model for Desert Agriculture This project serves as a benchmark for implementing advanced, reliable controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) solutions in coastal desert regions, demonstrating that technological expertise can overcome challenging environmental constraints.
