1. Selection of cold storage construction location
The general cold storage can be divided into three types: wholesale cold storage, retail cold storage and production cold storage. The production cold storage is built in the production area where the source of goods is relatively concentrated, and the transportation convenience and the interaction effect with the market must be considered.
Cold storage should not be built in the place with direct sunlight and high temperature. It should be built in a cool place. It is suggested that small cold storage should be built indoors. There should be good drainage conditions around the cold storage, the underground water level should be low, there should be a compartment under the cold storage, and keep good ventilation, keep dry is very important for the cold storage. In addition, before the construction of cold storage, three-phase power supply with corresponding capacity should be set according to the power of cold storage equipment. If the refrigeration unit of cold storage adopts water cooling mode, water pipe shall be laid first and cooling tower shall be built.
2. Determination of cold storage capacity
The storage capacity of cold storage should be designed according to the peak value of stored products. This capacity is based on the volume of products required for storage in the cold storage, plus pedestrian walkways, etc., to calculate the refrigeration capacity, and then determine the length, width and height of the cold storage.
3. Selection of thermal insulation materials for cold storage
The selection of cold storage insulation materials should not only have good thermal insulation performance, but also be economical and practical. There are several types of cold storage insulation materials. One is a storage board with hooks on four sides, which is processed according to the length, width and height of the root. According to the needs of storage object installation, the storage board of corresponding specifications can be selected. High and medium temperature cold storage generally adopts 10 cm thick low temperature cold storage and frozen cold storage, generally adopts 12 cm or 15 cm thick warehouse board; another cold storage can use polyurethane spray foam, and spray the material directly into the brick concrete warehouse to be built.

Insulating materials include polyurethane and polyphenylene oxide. Polyurethane has no water absorption, good heat insulation, but high cost; polyphenylene resin has strong water absorption and poor heat insulation, but its cost is low. The structure of modern cold storage is developing towards the direction of clothing type cold storage. Cold storage components including damp proof layer and heat insulation layer are fabricated and assembled on site. Its advantages are convenient, fast and mobile, but the cost is relatively high.
Selection of refrigeration system
The selection of cold storage refrigeration system is mainly the selection of cold storage compressor and evaporator. In general, small cold storage adopts totally enclosed compressor. Due to the low power and low price of totally enclosed compressor, semi closed compressor is generally used in medium-sized cold storage and semi closed compressor is used in large-scale cold storage. In the selection, the use of ammonia refrigeration compressor can also be considered, because the power of ammonia refrigeration compressor is very large. It is large in size and widely used, but the installation and management of cold storage is more complex. When evaporator is selected, air cooler is used as evaporator in high temperature cold storage
It is characterized by fast cooling speed, but it is easy to cause water loss in refrigerated products; the evaporation pipe made of seamless steel pipe is mainly used in medium and low temperature cold storage, which has good constant temperature effect and timely refrigeration.
